Praa Sands to Prussia Cove

Heading to the s coast this fourth dimension, 1 of our top choices for a winter'due south beach and cliff walk is the stunning scrap of coastline from Praa Sands to Prussia Cove. Praa is a gorgeous and enormous golden sandy beach overlooked by the small village of Praa. This beach is wildly popular in the summer, just much quieter in the winter when you'll sometimes accept the identify largely to yourself. If you fancy a longer walk, follow the coast path from Praa all the fashion along the headlands and cliffs, passing more wild and windswept beaches along the manner, to the enchanting Prussia Cove.

Winter sunset at Praa Sands

Marazion Beach and St Michael's Mount

St Michael'south Mount is a fairy tale like castle set a summit a little islet in the sea in Mounts Bay. At depression tide you can walk across the causeway to reach the islet, merely watch out for the tide times or you'll get cut off! In winter time we often stick to a walk along the sands at Marazion Embankment, enjoying the views of St Michael's Mountain as the winter dominicus dips low in the sky. Clamber up the rocks across the sea from the Mount and potter around the rock pools by the causeway. The Godolphin Arms in Marazion has gorgeous embankment views, and then y'all might like to pop in here for sit down downwards, warm up and a good old Cornish cream tea subsequently.

Perfect for an atmospheric, winter walk over the cliffs with the mining houses framed against the winter sunset. Endemic by the National Trust there's a cafe here too and information almost the fascinating history of the surface area.

Church Cove Gunwalloe to Poldhu, The Cadger

Church building Cove at Gunwalloe is i of my favourite wild and windswept coves, perfect for a wintertime welly walk across the sands. There'southward a romantic little church building here nestled into one corner of beach, sheltered from the wildest of the winds, known as 'The church of the storms'. What a place for a wedding! Head due south along the coast path and a curt cliff top walk around the headland will have you to the golden sands of Poldhu. This is a dandy wintertime option at Poldhu's beach buffet is open up 364 days of the year and it'southward hot chocolates are legendary.

While on a crisp December twenty-four hour period you can't crush a welly walk on the beach at nearby Gwithian, Praa Sands or Poldhu Beaches. Of class reopening has meant us putting new procedures and protocols in place to brand certain nosotros are in line with government and industry communication for holiday adaptation in England. I've been glued to Visit Cornwall and Cornwall Council Webinars each week, to follow the new directives as they came out. It's been a lot of information to digest and stay on peak of but we're confident we accept everything in place , included enhanced cleaning protocols that nosotros will follow very carefully in betwixt each fix of guests.

Just one of the many tweaks and adaptations we've put in place are these lovely wooden signs on the entrance doors of our log cabin and luxury yurt in Cornwall, equally a reminder to use the hand sanitiser provided. These were created for us by Jamie from Zennor Fabricated in Carbis Bay. Nosotros hear that quite a few of the shops in nearby St Ives have chosen to commission like signs. Information technology's a very Cornish way for us to keep in line with advice without having to plaster up no-and so-pretty Health & Safety posters…

Beautiful wooden door signs made by Zennor Made

And for the paw sanitiser itself, we're giving the This Works Stress Check Clean Hands product a go. I'm liking information technology then far, it conforms to regulations merely the essential oils arrive smell lovely and it feels much kinder to hands than the bog-standard stuff.

We've also signed ourselves upwardly to the AA'due south Covid Confident and Visit England's 'Good to Get' schemes as a delivery that at Pengelly Retreat is in line with all the authorities and industry standards and advice. And although running our business is a little more than complex than earlier… to be honest we experience very blest here that with just two lakeside properties and a peaceful spot in westward Cornwall we are probably in i of the all-time locations for fresh air and social distancing!

Availability is limited each day to ensure the gardens and attractions are non overcrowded and tickets do sell out quickly in some cases.

St Michael's Mount and Marazion Beach

Beaches will likewise be busy, so our best advice hither is to become either early or late when it will be quieter. And if the beach yous head to feels too decorated and the machine parks are full, head upward the declension and try a different location. There's enough of stunning West Cornwall beaches to visit nearby.
